Tech Talk Ep. 11: Aiming for climate-neutral wastewater treatment

Understand why it’s important and how to achieve it

Wastewater facilities are known as high-energy consumers. However, there is a great potential in transforming them into not only energy-neutral, but also climate-neutral plants.

The process of adding air into wastewater to allow bio-degradation of the pollutants is termed as 'wastewater aeration'. It is an integral part of most wastewater treatment. Reducing energy costs in the aeration process is therefore a key focus point of all water utilities.

In this 11th episode of Tech Talk, Mikkel Andersen, R&D Program Manager of Urban Water, talks about going beyond the energy footprint and how to reach climate neutrality through plant-wide resource management.
